Luxury meets prime land: Berjaya Land pre-launches Jesselton Court

A pre-launch sale event for the Jesselton Courtyard at Jesselton Selatan, graced by eminent persons from the Berjaya Group, was held at the Berjaya Property Gallery on Jalan Masjid Negeri on Tuesday, 16 July. Berjaya Land’s Group Chief Executive Officer Syed Ali Shahul Hameed inaugurated the event amidst the celebratory bangs and clangs of the lion dance troupe and the crackles of firecrackers. With him were Group Executive Director Dato Abdul Rahim Mohd Zin and Executive Director Tan Tee Ming. Also present was Berjaya Sports Toto’s Non-Independent Non-Executive Director Dato’ Oon Weng Boon. Berjaya Land Development Sdn Bhd is wholly owned by Berjaya Hartanah Berhad and a subsidiary of Berjaya Land Berhad.

“This new premium residential development redefines living with an exclusive and luxurious lifestyle set amidst the affluent surroundings of Penang Island,” said Syed Ali, emphasising the prestigious neighbourhood of Jesselton and Pulau Tikus.

The new luxury development at Jesselton Courtyard is a sought-after address as it sits on Penang’s most luxurious postal code. Scheduled for completion in June 2028, the project is already 45 per cent sold. Jesselton Court is the second phase of the whole project, with Jesselton Villas at Kensington Garden in its first phase. This second phase is spread across 11.9 acres of land comprising 32 units of bungalow houses and 207 units of landed condominiums. It is also only a stone’s throw away from the major amenities and attractions of Penang, such as reputable schools, restaurants, shopping centres, and state-of-the-art healthcare facilities, such as Gleneagles Hospital and Island Hospital.

The maximum height of the landed condominiums is only five storeys high. "... The development is a gated and guarded community that ensures a low-rise, low-density living experience with privacy and security," said Syed Ali, adding that its innovative design meets green building requirements, demonstrating Berjaya’s commitment to sustainability.

“The buyers were mainly local Penangites,” he said. He added that the project is currently on schedule with 60 per cent of the piling completed.

Courtyard Homes, which are 4 storeys high, are priced from RM6,476,000 for units starting at 6,649 sq ft. Courtyard Villas, which are landed condominiums that are either 1.5 storeys, are priced from RM2,870,000 for units starting at 2,734 sq ft. “Each unit offers parking for four to seven cars at the doorstep, catering to the Malaysian preference for multiple vehicles,” said Syed Ali.

"Jesselton Courtyard is an exceptional investment opportunity for discerning property buyers. Jesselton Courtyard stands as a symbol of refined living and a wise investment in both lifestyle and future returns," he said.

Berjaya Land Development Sdn. Bhd. will be on a roadshow at Gurney Plaza (near the Gurney Drive Entrance) from July 17–21, 2024 (Wed-Sun), 10 am-10 pm. Visitors can learn more about Jesselton Courtyard at Jesselton Selatan and receive detailed information regarding the development. The public may also visit Berjaya Property Gallery Penang after the roadshow or visit their website at www.jesseltoncourtyard.com to enquire further information.

Hello Kitty proves action speaks louder than words

Hello Kitty proves action speaks louder than words Hello Kitty does not have a mouth. She speaks with her heart. Worldwide novelty ‘Hello Kitty’ had Singaporeans queuing up and tussling over a limited edition toy kitten dressed in skeleton outfit from a German fairy tale known as ‘The Singing Bones’. McDonald’s Singapore sold the toy, as the last in a series of six, which began early June. The last frenzy was Hello Kitty dressed in wedding attire in 2000. Despite having stocked up on 40% more on collectible Hello Kitty toys this year and limiting each customer to only 4 toys each, McDonald’s claim that the response for the Fairy Tale series had been overwhelming. The fast-food chain announced last Thursday that the iconic toy had been sold out, much to the disappointment and frustration of many enthusiastic collectors who braved the haze in an attempt to get their hands on the plush toy. Singapore wasn't the only country bogged by this phenomenon. Malaysia a...

This article was published in TheSun on 19 August 2024. Tourism and Creative Economy executive councillor Wong Hon Wai said that there is great tourism potential in China’s Greater Bay Area, including Hong Kong. He also said that Penang should explore and expand its market share due to the Greater Bay Area’s large population of 86 million people, and economic strength. “Hong Kong alone has a population of 7.5 million people,” he said. “We warmly welcome more tourists, business professionals, and students from Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area to Penang, a unique city that blends East and West, tradition and modernity,” Wong said in a statement on   August 14. He said that the Greater Bay Area encompassing Hong Kong, Guangdong and Macao, share deep linguistic and cultural ties with Penang. Teng: It's not a scam

Press Statement by Penang Gerakan State Chairman Dato’ Dr Teng Hock Nan May 11, 2011 Penang Gerakan chief Dato’ Dr Teng Hock Nan pointed out today that the then State Exco did not at all offer compensation of RM1.8mil to Tang Hak Ju as compensation over a land case in Bukit Mertajam in 2004. “In fact, it was Tang who had demanded the sum from the previous state government. The State Exco decided that the amount he wanted should be justified with supporting documents including receipts on the amount of money he had spent in relation to the case. The decision was conveyed to Tang who could not produce the documents and did not come back to us. He then went to Court to seek redress,” said Dr Teng in a statement. Dr Teng, who was then a State Exco member, said the matter was clearly stated in the White Paper which was tabled at the State Assembly yesterday. “According to the White Paper, it was a technical mistake and negligence on the part of two government officers and there...
